  • Veronica Pierce, Board Chair, MSW, BSC

    Veronica Pierce brings nearly 20 years of experience in child welfare and advocacy to her role as a board member. A trained Forensic Interviewer and director.

    Veronica has dedicated her career to supporting children and families impacted by abuse and maltreatment through trauma-informed, multidisciplinary approaches. She holds a master’s degree and works closely with law enforcement, local hospitals, and child protection to ensure coordinated care for victims.

    Veronica also provides training to professionals in public safety and education, bringing strong leadership, expertise, and a deep commitment to serving children and families.

  • Pastor Mark Mechan, Board Advisor, Master of Theology

    Pastor Mark has faithfully served as Lead Pastor of Woodside Church (formerly First Baptist Amelia) since 2015. He is deeply committed to expository preaching, mentoring church elders, and guiding believers in spiritual growth and discipleship. A graduate of Liberty University

    Seminary, Pastor Mark holds a Master of Theology degree. Prior to his pastoral role at Woodside, he served in bi-vocational lay ministry while dedicating over two decades to law enforcement, including leadership as Chief of Police in several communities. His unwavering gospel conviction and evangelistic passion continue to fuel his mission to “make disciples who make disciples.” Pastor Mark and his wife, Sandra, are proud parents of two adult sons, Evan and Andrew.

  • Dr. Nyah Vululleh, Board Vice-Chair, PhD, MA, BSC

    Dr. Nyah Vululleh is an international psychologist, advocate, researcher, and community leader dedicated to advancing mental health, social justice, and community empowerment across global and local contexts. With a focus on culturally responsive care and trauma-informed practice, Dr. Vululleh works to bridge the gap between research and real-world impact.

    His work integrates psychological science, advocacy, and community engagement to promote resilience, equity, and healing, particularly among underserved populations. As a respected voice in international psychology, Dr. Vululleh continues to lead initiatives that empower individuals, strengthen communities, and inspire systemic change.
